So proud to see student media projects in an international art exhibition

Last year, Cloudhead joined the Adobe Foundation’s Taking It Global initiative. The goal is to work with students, teach them Photoshop and Premiere Elements and work together to develop media projects that Create With Purpose. Since March, we visited our wonderful group in Barrio Solidaridad.

We began by talking about the issues that are most important to them. Protecting the environment, animal abuse, domestic violence and preventing unwanted pregnancies topped the list. Above all, though, our students want to encourage others to live their lives with joy. They talked about the pressures of living in a community with some very really dangers, and how it is possible to rise above this with the help of friends and community.

Recently, we were invited by Taking It Global to submit work for an upcoming exhibition in Toronto. The name of our project is Somos Protagonistas or We are the protagonists of our own lives. Our students want to share a piece of their neighborhood with the rest of the world and encourage others to see the positive and playful all around.
